Eliza Claudia Filimon, PhD is a Senior Lecturer of English at the West University of Timișoara, Romania.

She teaches Audio-Visual Translation, Literary Translation and Film Studies. She organizes a yearly Literary Translation contest for Students, Shades of Meaning, and has involved her students in international translation and creative writing projects.

Born in 1972 in Spain, Daniel Miguelañez studied a BA in English studies in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) and Edinburgh and a BA in Modern languages and translation in Madrid and Boston.

He holds a Master’s degrees in Literary studies and another in Teacher training. He has been working as a translator and teacher for a number of years.
He is currently teaching terminology and cultural studies at the University of Alcala (Madrid)

Johanna Monti is currently Associate Professor and Third Mission Delegate at the L’Orientale University of Naples, where she teaches Translation Studies, Specialised Translation, Computational Linguistics for Translation, Machine and Computer Aided Translation. She received her PhD in Theories, Methodologies and Advanced applications for Communication, Computer Science and Physics with a thesis in Computational Linguistics at the University of Salerno, Italy. She the Chief Scientist of the UNIOR NLP Research Group, node in Natural Language Processing and Computational Linguistics of the CINI Italian Lab on Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems. Her current research activities are in the field of Machine Translation, the impact of MT in the translation process and the evaluation of the new translation technologies.

Maria Pia di Buono received her PhD in Communication Sciences with a thesis in Computational Linguistics at the University of Salerno, Italy and is currently Assistant Professor (RTD-A) of Modern Languages Teaching at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” where she teaches Translation Studies.
She was a Post-Doc researcher at European universities and excellence centres, taking part in several national and international research projects.
Her research interests concern Computational Linguistics, lexical semantics and ontologies, and the development of Linguistic Resources and Language Technologies in multilingual environments.

PhD Students: Giulia Speranza, Raffaele Manna

Michele Stefanile  is a maritime archaeologist and a PhD in Classical Archaeology at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, where he is working at the same time as a tutor in the iOS Foundation Program, in cooperation with Apple inc., for the development of mobile app related with Humanities and Cultural Heritage. 

He works also for the ICR-Italian Institute for Restoration in the MUSAS Project (Monitoring and Enhancing Underwater Cultural Heritage in Campania, Puglia and Calabria) and he is involved in the EDR-Epigraphic Database Rome (EAGLE Project – Europeana), where he is responsible for the study and digitization of all of the 3.000 electoral inscriptions from Pompeii.

Andrea D’Andrea took part in several archaeological explorations in Italy (Cuma, Herculaneum, Metaponto, Paestum, Pompeii, Pontecagnano) and abroad (Egypt: Wadi Gawasis, Manqabad, Eastern Desert; Saudi Arabia: Dumat Al Jandal; Ethiopia: Axum and Yeha; Jordan: Petra, Turkey: Temnos; Yemen: San’a and Tamna). He dealt with the digitization of the archaeological documentation and the implementation of the relative applications. He also dealt with the topographical survey and three-dimensional data-acquisition with laser scanner and aerial and terrestrial photogrammetry. Since 2010 he is director of the archaeological mission in Abou Ghurab (Egypt) and since 2019 is vice-director of the mission at Al Balid (Oman). He is the author of a monograph on the archaeological documentation and the related digital processing. He has co-edited three monographs and is the author of over 120 articles.

Anna Aguilar Amat: BA in Literature and PhD in Linguistics, is a tenured lecturer in Terminology at the Department of Translation, Interpreting and East Asian Studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Being member of Tradumàtica Research Group contributed to several funded research projects on Knowledge Bases and Machine Translation, focusing on Semantics of Terminology and lexical choice. She is also interested in less translated languages and lateral thinking. She is also known as a poet, the other side of consensus communication.

Gökhan Doğru completed his PhD on terminological aspects of machine translation at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where he still teaches translation technologies, terminology, and machine translation classes in undergraduate and master levels. He also works as a freelance English, Spanish > Turkish localization specialist and is the founder of Translation Technologies Academy which is an independent academy focused on technological aspects of translation.
