Despina Sourli, born in Germany of Greek origin, has always been interested in other languages and cultures. For this reason, she pursued her studies in Translation and after that in Conference Interpreting in Germersheim (University of Mainz). During her studies, she was lucky to spent two Erasmus semesters abroad – in Glasgow and Corfu -, and also to be a translation trainee at the European Parliament. While working already full-time in her profession, she pursued an additional degree in International Relations and European Studies. She speaks German, Greek, English, French and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors and especially triathlon.

Bettiana Quiroga is a native Spanish speaker from Argentina with a passion for languages and terminology. In addition to Spanish, she began studying English when she was eight, and has since learned Italian and French. She graduated from the National University of Córdoba as a Certified Public Translator and is now working on her Master’s in Terminology Management from Barcelona’s Pompeu Fabra University.

Born in Istanbul, Rana Elif Aydin obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies at Boğaziçi University with a specialization in Conference Interpreting. Her working languages are Turkish, English, and Spanish. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in International Relations with a special focus on gender and women’s rights movements at Boğaziçi University. She has worked as a freelance translator and interpreter for almost four years. She has previously volunteered as a Turkish interpreter for Model European Union Strasbourg and still volunteers for Translators Without Borders. Her specialties in translation include localization, marketing, and IT.

Francesca Vaccarelli is a Researcher of English Linguistics and Translation Studies at the Faculty of Communication Science, University of Teramo, where she is currently the Erasmus+ and International Mobility Dpt. Coordinator. Since the a.y. 2003-2004 she has taught English Language in the Faculties of Political Science, Communication Science, Veterinary Medicine.

Her research – carried out in a synchronic and comparative – ENG>ITA – way –mainly focuses on English Linguistics and Lexicology (word-formation processes, DSEs, especially Business English, English for Political Studies, English for Tourism and EU terminology); Anglicisms in the Italian language; World Englishes (Nigerian English and Euro-English); the terminology of legal and institutional languages. She often uses corpus linguistics tools.

Martyna Olchawa is an undergraduate and a master’s student in the Ionian University in the Department of Foreign languages, Translation and Interpreting. During her studies she participated in simulation conferences, such as simulations the Council of Europe, European institutions -as the EU Council and the European Parliament, both in a national and an international level. She specializes in legal, marketing and European texts as well as in the field of Localization. She is currently working as an in-house translator at a Translation agency in Greece. Her favorite quote is by George Steiner who says that “Without translation, we would be living in provinces bordering on silence”.

Samantha Rizzi was born in Italy and made in UK. She lived in London, holds two degrees from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”  and has been working as freelance Translator and Teacher.

Professionally qualified English and Spanish to Italian Translator. Thanks to her studies as well as her experience in specialized legal translation, she has developed a strong, in-depth knowledge in the field of languages and translation. Recently, she has been diving headfirst into terminology research. Highly dynamic individual with excellent communication skills. Resilient, reliable and determined. A dreamer who works hard to make it happen. Samantha likes hiking, travelling, meditating and creating.
