My Name is Serena Bastiani and I am Italian but I have been living in Graz, Austria for over 5 years. I earned a Bachelor degree in Italy as a language mediator, with the languages Italian, English and German. Here in Austria I am about to finish my Master degree program in interpreting and translation in the combination Italian-German. Learning languages has always been one of my greatest passions and I want to put them into practice in my work life. During the years in Austria I have been working as customer service support in the languages I know but I have had also the chance to work as a translator and interpreter for the combination Italian-German. My plan for the future is to make these two activities my main occupation. During the years at the university I developed a personal interest for medical topics and that’s the reason why I have started to specialize in this field.

Just to confirm the Italian stereotype, in my private life I love cooking as well as eating. However, I don’t just love the Italian food, I am really curios about the typical cuisine of every country I visit and when I travel I make sure to eat in traditional restaurants. Another important thing in my life is music. I love going to gigs and listening to my favorite CDs and vinyls at home.

In order to combine two of my passions with a practical work experience I decided to participate in the projects TermFood and TermMed. I am looking forward to it!
