Dr. Sotirios G. Keramidas is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting (Ionian University). He holds a Diploma in Translation (1985) from KE.ME.DI., a BA in Translation (1989) and a PhD in Translation Studies (1999) from the Ionian University.

He has taught Specialised Translation at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the DFLTI since 1998.

Rui Sousa-Silva is assistant professor of the Faculty of Arts and researcher at the Linguistics Centre (CLUP) of the University of Porto, where he also conducts his research. He has a first degree in Translation and a Masters in Terminology and Translation, both awared by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, and a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Aston University (Birmingham, UK), where he submitted his thesis on Forensic Linguistics: ‘Detecting Plagiarism in the Forensic Linguistics Turn’. He studied cross-cultural attitudes to plagiarism, and proposed an approach to translingual plagiarism detection. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Masters in Translation and Language Services of the University of Porto (Member of the EMT – European Masters in Translation network and co-editor with Professor Malcolm Coulthard of the international bilingual journal Language and Law / Linguagem e Direito.

Tejedor Martínez Cristina was born in Spain and holds a BA in English Studies (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, and Sheffield, UK) and a PhD in Lexicography. She has been working at the University of Alcalá in different positions, being a Senior Lecturer since 2001. Visiting Scholar at Harvard Graduate School of Education and Fellow at Real Colegio Complutense, Harvard (USA) in 2017-2018 and Visiting Fellow in several universities (Western Sydney University, University of Limerick, Santa Barbara University, University of Birmingham). She is currently working on the area of lexicology, lexicography, semantics and terminology.

Anna Aguilar Amat: BA in Literature and PhD in Linguistics, is a tenured lecturer in Terminology at the Department of Translation, Interpreting and East Asian Studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Being member of Tradumàtica Research Group contributed to several funded research projects on Knowledge Bases and Machine Translation, focusing on Semantics of Terminology and lexical choice. She is also interested in less translated languages and lateral thinking. She is also known as a poet, the other side of consensus communication.

Gökhan Doğru completed his PhD on terminological aspects of machine translation at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where he still teaches translation technologies, terminology, and machine translation classes in undergraduate and master levels. He also works as a freelance English, Spanish > Turkish localization specialist and is the founder of Translation Technologies Academy which is an independent academy focused on technological aspects of translation.

Łucja Biel is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw, Poland. She was a Visiting Lecturer on the MA in Legal Translation at City University London from 2009 to 2014. She is a editor-in-chief of the Journal of Specialised Translation and a board member of the European Society for Translation Studies. She has been an English-Polish legal and business translator since 1997. She holds a PhD in Linguistics (University of Gdańsk), Diploma in English and EU Law (University of Cambridge) and School of American Law diploma (Chicago-Kent School of Law and UG). She has published extensively in this area. She has also co-edited three books.

José Francisco Meina Montero è Laureato, “Licenciado de Grado” e Dottore di ricerca in Filologia Ispanica (opzione Lingua Spagnola) presso l’Universidad de Extremadura (Spagna) e Professore Ordinario di Lingua e traduzione – Lingua spagnola (Settore scientifico-disciplinare L-LIN/07) presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche, del Linguaggio, dell’Interpretazione e della Traduzione dell’Università degli Studi di Trieste. La sua attività di ricerca è orientata verso lo studio della Lingua spagnola (nel suo doppio ambito di studio: diacronico e sincronico) come prima e seconda lingua, della Linguistica contrastiva italiano-spagnolo-italiano e della Traduzione italiano-spagnolo-italiano. È autore di più di 50 lavori che comprendono articoli, libri ecc. che approfondiscono diversi aspetti delle linee di ricerca sopraccitate. Ha partecipato come relatore a più di 60 conferenze in Italia, Spagna, Argentina, Serbia, Germania, Francia, Romania, Polonia, Croazia, Perù, Paraguay e Messico. Membro o ricercatore principale di 17 progetti di ricerca finanziati, appartiene a 5 comitati editoriali e scientifici di riviste scientifiche e ha fatto parte di 25 comitati organizzatori e scientifici di convegni internazionali. Presso l’Università degli Studi di Trieste è stato Coordinatore del Corso di Laurea Triennale in Comunicazione Interlinguistica Applicata, Delegato del Rettore Mobilità Internazionale e Collaboratore del Rettore Relazioni Internazionali. Da dicembre 2021 è Direttore scientifico del Centro Linguistico di Ateneo.

Maria Teresa Zanola is Full Professor of French Linguistics and Coordinator of the section “Language sciences, terminologies and text typologies”, Master 1 and 2 in European Languages, Literatures and Cultures, Department of Language Sciences and Foreign Literatures, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. She is the President of the University Language Service Committee and Director of the Observatory of Terminologies and Language Policy. She is member of the Advisory Board, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Università degli Studi di Torino, 2021. She is the President of the Panlatin Network of Terminology REALITER and of the Conseil Européen pour les Langues/European Language Council (CEL/ELC). She was member of the Coordination Committee of the “Rete per l’Eccellenza dell’Italiano istituzionale – ReteREI”, General Directorate of Translation, European Commission, Bruxelles (2005-2015).


Anna Serpente has been a Technical Translator since March 2007 and in 2012 she certified as ECQA Terminology Manager. She awarded her Master’s Degree in Language Sciences and Foreign Literature at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in 2000. Following a seven-year experience in international companies of the Oil&Gas industry, in 2009 she began collaborating with Professor Maria Teresa Zanola and in 2011 was appointed expert in the field for Terminology and Language Policies and member of the OTPL research centre. Since 2012 Anna is the Coordinator for translation projects at SeLDa Department (University Language Centre of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore). In 2018 Anna has been appointed as Secretariat for the Conseil Européen pour les Langues – European Language Council (CEL/ELC). Other professional memberships Ass.I.Term (Italian association for terminology) since September 2008 and Realiter member since July 2016. In 2018 Anna entered COM&TEC (Associazione Italiana per la Comunicazione Tecnica).

Martina Alì is a doctoral student in Linguistic and Literary Sciences at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. In 2021 she won a scholarship for a “PON” (National Operational Program, Programma Operativo Nazionale in Italian) Research and Innovation PhD dedicated to sustainable development issues. In particular, her research project aims to reconstruct the terminology of the tanning industry and communicate its sustainability. Her fields of interest include French linguistics and the diachronic study of the terminology of arts and craft.

Silvia Calvi is a doctoral student in foreign literature, languages and linguistics at the Università degli Studi di Verona. She is also teaching French as a second language at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Brescia and in Piacenza. Her interests lie mainly in three areas of French linguistics: terminology, specialised lexicography and the teaching/learning of French as a second language. Her doctoral thesis, focusing on international trade terminology, concerns the semi-automatic extraction and representation of collocations in a terminology database. She has conducted terminology studies in the fields of commerce and sport.


Klara Dankova is a postdoctoral researcher at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. Her PhD thesis (2020) deals with the terminology of textile fibres in French from the 18th century onwards (title of the thesis: La néologie et la construction morphosémantique dans la communication spécialisée en français: les fibres chimiques entre la synchronie et la diachronie). In her research, she is interested in French terminology in the fields of textile and health.

 

 

 

Maria Vittoria Lo Presti has a PhD in Teaching of Modern Languages. Her doctoral thesis concerns the development of autonomy in foreign language learning. She teaches in a Workshop on teaching Italian as a second language at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and collaborates with the project VAL-ITAL2 Grammatica VALenziale per l’ITAliano L2 and LudolinguisticaPer. Her fields of interest include CLIL methodology, Italian L2 teaching, plurilingual education and issues in foreign language teacher training.

Silga Sviķe is an assistant professor and researcher at Ventspils University of Applied Sciences in Latvia. In 2016, she was awarded a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Liepaja University & Ventspils University of Applied Sciences. In Ventspils University of Applied Sciences Dr. Silga Sviķe is a Head of the Master’s Programme “Translation of LSP (Language for Special Purposes) Texts” and she teaches Contract Translation Classes, German as a Second Foreigh Language in the Bachelor Programme and Translation of Commercial Documents Classes in the Masters Programme. Dr. Elpida Loupaki is an Assistant Professor in Descriptive Translation Studies & Terminology in the School of French at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She obtained her degree in French Language and Literature, and was awarded an MA in Professional Translation from the Institut de Traducteurs d’Interprètes et de Relations Internationales at Strasbourg University and finally obtained her PhD in Language and Communication from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is an ECQA certified Terminology Manager (Advanced Level) and participated in different European Research programs. From 2013, she had coordinated several IATE projects in cooperation with the TermCoord of the European Parliament and with WIPO Pearl.

Kaja Gostkowska is Assistant Professor at the Department of Translation Studies in the Institute of Romance Studies at the University of Wroclaw, Poland, where she teaches French-Polish Translation, Terminology Theory and Management, Translation Technology and Lexicography. She took part in the Terminology Project coordinated by UEFA to compile the Polish part of a multilingual dictionary of football terms. Her main research interests are: Terminology in its various aspects, Terminography and Lexicography, Teaching Terminology to Translators, Scientific Translation and its association with the dissemination of science. She is the author of a monograph on the development of Polish and French Terminology of biomedical sciences (2015). She is the originator and co-organizer of the international conference Wroclaw Terminological Meeting TERMOS held at the University of Wroclaw.

Monika Głowicka is Spanish Philologist, specialized in Spanish Linguistics. Doctor in Human Sciences from the University of Wroclaw (Poland), Professor of the University of Wroclaw (Poland), in the Institute of Romance Studies, Department of Spanish. Her main areas of interest are: Spanish Phraseology, Spanish Grammar, Polish-Spanish Comparative Linguistics and Translation.
