This week we have chosen “CEDAW – Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women” since today it is the International Women’s Day.
This event reminds us of the remarkable goals achieved by women in the last century and their current important role in our society.
Furthermore, we have to keep in mind that the path to obtain a fully equal social treatment for women all over the world is still long and we have to work hard to reach it.
CEDAW is often described as an international bill of rights for women. Consisting of a preamble and 30 articles, it defines what constitutes discrimination against women and sets up an agenda for national action to end such discrimination.
